People raising doubts over Vinayak Damodar Savarkar should be termed anti-nationals, Ranjit Savarkar, grandson of the Hindutva ideologue, has said in an interview with India Today TV.”I would demand the UP government to take immediate action against people raising doubts on Savarkar as a freedom fighter,” Ranjit Savarkar said.
Congress and Samajwadi Party legislators have raised objections to Savarkar’s portrait in the UP Assembly, saying it’s an insult to other freedom fighters.
“The British said that Savarkar is the most dangerous man. He spent 27 years in jail. What more proof do you want? People who are raising questions over Savarkar should be called anti-nationals,” Ranjit Savarkar said.
“Now, they are talking about Savarkar’s letters to the British. Savarkar had written that his fellow inmates should be released. I have many letters of Gandhi and Nehru. Our internal matter of India was discussed at Mountbatten’s house. Congress are shameless people. When they want to target BJP, they will target Savarkar,” Ranjit Savarkar said.
