Phagwara police solves NRI murder case

The Phagwara Police on Wednesday succeeded to solve a NRI murder case only in 24 hours.
SSP Kapurthala told this correspondent here Wednesday that police have arrested Kamlesh Rani ,daughter-in-law of the deceased NRI Hans Raj and her elder sister Sudesh Rani under section 302/34 IPC.
SHO said third killer identified as Jasbir Singh the lover of the accused Sudesh Rani was still at large.
While giving details DSP said the deceased had two sons Kamaldeep and Amandeep. The younger Amandeep was living separately from his parents.
As Kamlesh wife of Amandeep got to know that her father-in-law was keeping huge money after exchanging a plot, she hatched a conspiracy with her elder sister Sudesh Rani and Jasbir(Lover of Sudesh) to commit the crime.
They brutely murdered UK based NRI Hans Raj Basra(65) with sharp-edged weapons in local Ranjit Nagar in Baba Gadhia locality, Phagwara on late Monday night.

Senior Superintendent of Police while confirming it told this correspondent here on Tuesday that the killers took away cash of Rs 8 lakhs , two mobiles and one gold ring before leaving the house.
SSP said the deceased came from UK after nine years and sold a plot in Jalandhar before purchasing a plot in Phagwara recently. Dalbir Kaur, the ailing wife of the victim NRI was admitted to a private hospital while his son Kamaldeep was sleeping in another room at the time of the incident.
